Our focus

Just Us 4 Children focuses predominantly on three particular areas:

Case Management

Just Us 4 Children identifies cases of child abuse in which the relevant government institution is unable to manage the case to ensure arrest, prosecution and conviction. The result is that many parents or care-givers have to resort to private investigation which, in many cases, is not an option. Our intention is to ensure that a decision to pursue a case against an abuser is not made purely on the lack of funds.

In some cases funding is not needed for investigation. There are situations in which a mother has no option but to stay with the abuser because she simply cannot afford not to. In situations like this we will endeavour to provide the mother with the means to remove herself and her children from the father’s care.

All cases are referred to Just Us 4 Children through specialist organizations such as The Guardian, Bobby Bear, ICare, Greyville – Place of Restoration and Childline.

Crisis Management

Crisis Management focuses mainly on an immediate need a child may to be removed from a dangerous situation and placed in a place of safety.

Included in this is counseling if the child requires it.

Education & Awareness

We believe that in order to fight child abuse proactively, South Africans must be educated and made aware of child abuse and what it is.

We will identify schools and areas in which we believe there is a need to implement an education and awareness programme but also where the community and/or school does not have the funds to do so themselves.

Help fight child abuse – our children need us.

Fighting child abuse together, for a better, safer tomorrow.

“Safety and security don’t just happen, they are the result of collective consensus and public investment.
We owe our children, the most vulnerable citizens in our society, a life free of violence and fear.” Nelson Mandela, Former President of South Africa
